Announcing the end of this year's Orford-Fairlee July 4th Parade was Moriah Ludwig of Fairlee who rode at the entire route as the very last unit in the parade. The parade formed at the old Orford High School and proceeded north on Route 10, crossed over the Connecticut River and went down Route 5 through Fairlee. Thousands viewed the hourlong parade. Wells River Fire Chief Jeff "Raisin" Morin speaks to a large crowd that turned out for a fl ag pole dedication at the department fi re station at the corner of US Routes 5 and 302 last week. In a secret campaign that remained a total surprise to Chief Morin, the pole was dedicated to him for his longtime service to his department and community.
