Study Real Estate @

Real estate spans land and buildings and about half the world's wealth is locked in real estate - land, oces, shopping centres (like Maponya Mall or Jabulani), hotels, whole neighbourhoods like Soweto, warehouses, golf courses, farms, stadia etc. Your home, your shopping centre, your school, your sports stadium, the nearest government oce and hospital are real estate.

Real estate professionals advise how to invest in these assets. They value these and advise how much to buy or sell them for. Some of them work in banks (like FNB, NEDBANK and ABSA, for example) where they have to decide who gets to borrow to buy their own home or develop an oce, shopping centre, hotel, etc. The best known real estate professional is the broker who arranges sales and rentals of dierent types of homes.

Wits University has just performed an extreme and total makeover of its real estate programme. The 'made over' program increases the number, depth and quality of real estate courses in the curriculum, enabling you to acquire rst-class training in real estate. We are the only University in the country that enables you, in addition to real estate training, acquire skills in managing your own business so if you are adventurous enough, you can work for yourself instead of waiting for someone to hire you. For your application to be successful, you will need to score high grades on all your subjects at Grade 11 as your Grade 11 marks are critical in your application. If you're considering which University degree programme to apply to, don't forget to look at the Wits programme. We plan to be your gateway to a global career in real estate, which means from Johannesburg, you may end up in Accra - Ghana, Brisbane - Australia or Sao Paolo in Brazil.
