The Developmental Testing Directorate tests and evaluates product capabilities and performance in a realistic, simulated operational environment to identify and close capability gaps, enhance training, and exploit vulnerabilities for the purpose of providing key decision makers an accurate, balanced and complete assessment of product viability.

KEY TASKS VISION

A premier test and evaluation organization that is valued by customers and decision makers for providing essential information that ensures Individual Operators,Tactical Healthcare Professionals and Rescue Personnel have the right tools for success across the entire spectrum of operations. ? Promote an integrated suite of tactical/rescue product lines based on rigorous research, development, and evaluation processes. ? Develop, implement, and manage an operational test and evaluation program integrated with state-of-the art facilities and subject matter expertise. ? Develop and implement testing methodologies to assure that realistic and testable requirements are reflected. ? Plan, conduct, and report operational testing and evaluations for the acquisition decision-making process. ? Test or assess new and modified products in a realistic operational environment to determine whether products are effective, suitable, safe and survivable. ? Assist in identification, development, and integration of mission critical equipment. ? Deploy test teams worldwide to accomplish operational testing and demonstration missions at end-user locations. ? Deploy interface teams to tactical organizations to collect data on product use and future requirements. ? Provide technology expertise to test teams. ?
