FAMILY WEEKEND 2010
BY ASHLEY STOVALL. STUDENT COORDINATOR, OFFICE OF FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE
amily Weekend is an annual event held on Longwood's campus that allows
families to visit their students and enjoy a fun-filled weekend of events, activities, and entertainment! Each year the Office of the Student Union and Involvement sponsors this three-day weekend to bring parents and guardians into the Longwood family. While visiting their students, families will explore the college and become familiar with student life on campus. This is a great way to spend quality time with students and reconnect with them before the end of fall semester. The Office of the Student Union & Involvement, Lancer Productions, and the Longwood Parents Council have worked collaboratively to make this a very successful event for Fall 2010. They have incorporated a variety of activities and entertainment that both students and families will enjoy. Such events include an outdoor movie featuring Iron Man 2, a family picnic with prizes and giveaways, a casino night, golf tournament, as well as a musical performance by singer and songwriter John Rush with many more
