?We've seen a lot of elk rutting activity in both Rocky Mountain National Park and right here on our local golf courses. Caution is recommended near these wild animals because the bulls and cows are only concerned with each other and we humans can sometimes get in the way. Students and teachers who lived further out met as a big group at the Visitors Center and staff and students rode or walked in together. When the students got to school they all received a purple wristband to commemorate the occasion. Special activities had also been planned for the students and there was a prize given out to the student and staff member that traveled the farthest under their own power! After all that exercise, students were rewarded with a healthy snack to start their day off right! See more photos on our website. Photos by EP NEWS/ Kris & Gary Hazelton
