?Last week, in the middle of the afternoon, Dick and Janet Coe spotted this young black bear eating out of their suet feeder. They yelled and shouted and the bear ran away. However, it returned almost immediately with the hair on it's back raised, intent on getting that suet. Janet got a pan and spoon and started pounding on it and Dick proceeded to yell at the bear to scare him away. It left without the suet. Dick quickly retrieved the feeder, stored it and threw the suet away. This is a good reminder to put your birdfeeders away for the summer months and bring in your hummingbird feeders at night to avoid any human/bear conflicts. Photo by Dick Coe
