?Duck Central, the nerve center for the giant Rotary Duck Race was opened by the Rotary Duck race committee at its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. last Thursday, April 9. Located at 517 Big Thompson Avenue, Suite #30, in Lower Stanley Village across the street from the Safeway parking lot, Duck Central is the central command control for the May 2 race. Operated by computer experts Sandy and Lee Lasson and Don Widrig, the duck-decorated suite will be open from noon to 5 p.m. from April 10 and closing at 5 p.m. on May 1, the day before the race. This office, marked by a giant yellow Duck Race banner, is the place to go to turn in completed duck adoption forms and money, to get more forms, arrange for Quiltin? T. Canvasback (the race mascot) to visit meetings and events, ask questions, discuss issues, or just admire the large sponsor ducks, painted by the Estes Park High School art department students.
