One era ends and another begins

Highly anticipated for several years, the demolition of the southern half of Côte St. Luc's 37-yearold Cavendish Mall began late last week. The soon-to-be empty space will be filled in the next few years with a mixture of homes, including 38 detached single family homes, 18 semi-detached homes, 55 townhouse units, 40 condos or offices in a mixed-use building of the same height as the mall's office tower. Construction of the first few homes is expected next spring.
