Usually we try and make the theme of our special summer issue lighter than that of our special Christmas issue. But this year, because of the transition of our role overseas, we wanted to focus on the remarkable service and sacrifice of our troops. Their stories, and what they teach us about our possibilities as Canadians, should never be forgotten. They should not be relegated to a one-day-a-year remembrance.
