The residential portion will be located from the area of the current office tower south to Kildare Road, and will include 38 detached single family homes, 18 semi-detached homes, 55 townhouse units, 40 condos or offices in a mixed-use building of the same height as the mall's office tower and, later, a potential seniors residence connected to the mall. "Once the demolition is permitted - that would be around the July 12 timeframe - presuming that the zoning bylaw [to make the development possible] is accepted by everyone concerned, and if residents don't petition for a referendum and a referendum is not held that defeats it - we would look at the demolition of the [southern part of the] mall occurring later this year," Mayor Anthony Housefather said. This is all based on estimated timelines subject to change by the work being done by the developers with respect to infrastructure." Regarding a potential register, "we would start the process approximately June 30, and it would go for an eight-day period during the time city hall would be open between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.," said city clerk Jonathan Shecter. "Residents can sign an application to hold a register if they are in a zone that is contiguous to the zoning change or within the zoning change" - in other words, those who live close to where the changes to the mall will take place. The mayor said residents who need more specific information can contact the city clerk's office at city hall, 514- 485-6800. Housefather said the project is estimated to bring $1.1 million in taxes a year to Côte St. Luc, not including the potential seniors residence.
