Should there be a breaking story of a controversial nature, be it a fire, police shooting or a protest, he will be on location. Otherwise he works the phones and heads out on the road on more than one occasion for press conferences and background pieces. Parent notes that TKP Media will also offer crisis communications training, specifically, how to protect and defend yourself or your company when facing difficult challenges to your reputation. Parent is a LaSalle native. As a teen he moved with his family to Toronto where a guidance counsellor encouraged him to explore radio. He conducted internships at several stations, latterly at CJAD. The late and great Gord Sinclair, then the news director, offered him one paid shift a week which turned in to a full time gig in 2001.
