Local actress Rath bags 'ghostly' TV role

Montreal West native Meaghan Rath, the lovely 24-year-old actress who has graced the small and big screen in 15/Love, Prom Wars, The Assistants and Aaron Stone, may have just scored the role of a lifetime. She has been cast in Being Human, the American version of the smash BBC hit. It will air on the Syfy Channel in the USA and likely somewhere in Canada (perhaps Space). Rath will play ghostly Sally, one of the three leads in this story about a ghost, a vampire and werewolf who live together. Sam Witwer of Smallville fame will play Aidan the vampire. Sam Huntingdon of Superman Returns is set to portray werewolf Josh. And this just in! Mark Pellegrino, who played Jacob on the ABC smash hit Lost, will also be in town and part of the cast. Shooting begins here in Montreal next Monday and continues until December. "I am so so excited," Rath told me. "It's a really great role that I can't wait to sink my teeth into." Meanwhile, there have been numerous Kellan Lutz sightings over the past several weeks in Montreal. Lutz, who stars as vampire Emmet Cullen in the Twilight series, has been shooting Immortals here with Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto, John Hurt and Stephen Dorff. In interviews he gave at the Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiere in Hollywood, Lutz was very vocal about the fact he flew in from Montreal. COHEN CHATTER: Montreal actress Laurence Leboeuf will portray CIA spy and one-time lover of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, Marita Lorenz. Susan Sarandon, Robert De Niro, Robert Downey Jr. and Javier Bardem are also expected to star in the film, which will shoot in 2011, mostly in Miami and Puerto Rico. Lorenz still lives in
