Jennifer Heil?s Olympic smile

Mike Cohen

Have you noticed how white Canadian freestyle mogul skiing star Jennifer Heil?s teeth are in all of those television interviews she?s doing about her silver medal winning performance last Saturday? The Montreal resident and McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management student made a trip to the dentist prior to her departure for the Vancouver Winter Olympics. The father and son team of Drs. Warren and Jason Retter have posted her most recent appointment on their website (www.retterdentalcare.com) via YouTube. Warren, in fact, went one step further. He was at Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver to watch her perform over the weekend with a promise to polish her teeth before her smile on the podium. What will Heil do when she retires? She recently did some work for the Birk?s Montreal design team downtown, immersing herself in a five-month project. ?I live right around the corner,? she told Macleans Magazine. ?I would arrive smiling and leave smiling all the way.? Nikki?s Star Performance: Hampstead singing sensation Nikki Yanofsky?s star continues to rise. Last Friday night, one week after celebrating her Sweet Sixteen party with friends and family, she was on stage at B.C. Place to sing the Canadian national anthem before a worldwide television audience in the millions. ?It was more than just O Canada,? someone who attended the ceremonies told me by phone Saturday. ?This was a performance.? Nikki, of course, has already sung the official English Vancouver Olympic 5775 Cavendish blvd, Côte St-Luc

CJAD?s Dan Laxer created a stir on his program last week when he told listeners he just did not like the song. While his lines lit up, I was among those who sent him a text stating that the more I heard the song, the more I like it. CTV News Tops: While last week?s column focused on the CBC, its improved radio listenership and optimism over its new 90- minute television newscast, CTV Montreal still rules the roost with suppertime news. AT A CLICK OF THE MOUSE, THEY WILL BYPASS YOUR HOUSE!

In this day and age, it is more important than ever to prepare your home before you put it on the market. In just one click of the mouse, your home can be disqualified if it doesn?t grasp the buyer?s attention right away. That?s how powerful internet is. Sellers often forget that their home will be viewed by thousands of buyers on the internet. Do you want the buyers to see it in the state that it is or would you rather spruce it up? Here is what you should pay attention to... de-clutter, remove pictures, repaint with a gigantic average quarter hour viewership of 163,600 people. Even though CBC and Global are far behind, both stations see definite pluses on their side. CBC is still adjusting to three separate newscasts commencing at 5 p.m. while Global only recently became available on Bell TV (formerly Bell Expressvu). ?It?s been a tough year on the business side, especially with the loss of our early morning newscast,? says CTV Montreal news director Jed Kahane. ?But for the rest of our news programming, we?ve held on to the staff and resources where needed, rearrange furniture and consider using the services of a home stager. ?Always remember... a picture is worth a thousand words!?
