It?s the motto of the borough of St. Léonard, home to the Leonardo da Vinci Centre and much of Montreal?s Italian community, and it?s in that spirit that the Centre and the National Congress of Italian Canadians-Quebec Division (Congresso) are teaming up with a roster of talented artists to put on a show to raise funds for Haiti relief. On Feb. 17, HaitItalia will feature local Haitian, Italian and Québécois singers and performers, all volunteering their time and talents to send much-needed dollars to the Canadian Red Cross. While benefiting a torn and battered nation, HaitiItalia will bring together two vibrant and neighbouring Montreal communities for a night of music, smiles and good will. It?s a powerhouse list of performers: Marie-Josée Lord, Vincenzo Thoma, Eddy King, Natalie Choquette, Daniel Panetta, Sylvie Desgroseilliers, Ima, Marco Valeriani, Pierre-Michel Ménard, ?Soupçon? from Cirque du Soleil, Lizann, the Orchestre Harmonie Leonardo da Vinci, and a whole lot more. It?s a night that will be remembered, and with a significance beyond the immediate.
