City moves against Vezina ?slumlord?

Beginning in March 2008, this newspaper ran stories about his Vezina buildings as Côte des Neiges-NDG borough officials threatened to fine Sebag into submission. The appalling condi- tions still not remedied, the city took more decisive action over the past few days. Inspectors issued Sebag four urgent warnings that required him to conduct repairs inside of 48 hours, or face hefty fines. Hampstead to increase council salaries

Hampstead council moved a notice of motion to increase the salaries of councillors from $ 8,506 a year to $10,000 and the mayor from $25,518 to $30,000, effective retroactively from Nov. 6.
