Fourteen year-old girl murdered in Côte St. Luc

A 14-year-old girl was found murdered in her home early Monday evening on Randall Avenue in Côte St. Luc by members of her family, and the girl's brother was sought and found by police late that night. Police spokesman Raphael Bergeron told The Suburban that the girl's 18-yearold brother Maor Attar was interrogated by investigators for about 10 hours, as he was still considered at that point to be an "important witness." According to a CBC report Tuesday afternoon, he will be charged with the murder and was in hospital with self-inflicted wounds. The Suburban came upon the scene about 7:45 p.m. Monday, as numerous police cars blocked Randall between Côte St. Luc and Merton Roads and an ambulance could be seen down the street. At that point in time, police declined comment as to what was taking place behind the police tape. Côte St. Luc officials See MURDER, page 3
