MEDIA FACILITIES AT CSL CITY HALL
Côte St. Luc recently set up a press table at city hall for the monthly council meetings, complete with facilities for media to connect their tape recorders to a mechanism to enable clear sound. For at least 20 years, The Suburban has taken residence at a desk that also contains the meeting agenda, but the recorded sound from that position was frequently unclear because of the position of speakers in the room. Now, thanks to the city and communications director Darryl Levine, that problem has been resolved. Hampstead has a press table at its council meetings, while Montreal West's room is sufficiently small that a press table is not needed. St. Laurent has a press area, but also has overhead speakers.
