Dragon Boaters come to Tecumseh
Lakeview Park to host weekend event
By: Staff Reporter The International Dragon Boats for the Cure festival is kicking off its weekend festivities in Tecumseh tomorrow at Lakeview Park on Riverside Drive. So far almost 100 teams have registered for this year's event, with two days of racing for international teams, the student challenge on Saturday and community team race fundraiser on Sunday. There will also be a rose ceremony taking place during the weekend to remember all those affected by cancer. The festival will be coinciding with the Lakeview Eats and Beats event tomorrow and Saturday, which will feature local food, a full bar and entertainment from Canadian bands for all ages. The eats and beats event will be located at the same location, and will provide entertainment for the community and paddlers each night starting at 6 p.m.SO FAR ALMOST 100 TEAMS HAVE REGISTERED FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT, WITH TWO DAYS OF RACING FOR INTERNATIONAL TEAMS
