Information Overload

T hings have defi nitely changed over the years. It used to be that a newspaper, a magazine and a few minutes on the late local news was about all you had available when it came to getting information. Today, with the internet, satellite TV and cell phones, you have access to so much information you could literally blow a fuse trying to keep up on it all. One thing I have always tried to do is stay up on the latest in technology. It is a challenge sometimes, but it fascinates me. There is so much information out there; but, by using the proper channels, hardware and software, you can get just what you want and when you want it. Right now blogging is the new big thing. Almost everyone seems to have a new blog of some sort or at least a profi le on Myspace or YouTube. This September marks the three-year anniversary of my King?s Blog. I invite you to take a look if you haven?t already and take part in the discussion. You?ll be able to get some insight into rumors of the biggest bucks and bulls taken each year. In addition, you will fi nd an all-new website for King?s Outdoor World (www. kingsoutdoorworld.com) that includes RSS feeds, streaming video, and autoupdates. We have a brand new Trophy Room Gallery where you can register and post your own photos, make comments and get automatic emails sent to you if you want to keep track of what is going on with a certain category of interest. You can also get information about all of King?s products from our awardwinning calendars to our Shadowcamo clothing and gear. There are also over 350 images of our King?s Re-creations to view and read background information about. You can get info on some of the biggest mule deer, elk and whitetail in the world that have been featured in past King?s Calendars. If you enjoy the magazine or are just picking it up on the newsstand for the fi rst time, I also invite you to check out www.huntingillustrated.com. I think you will like our Virtual Magazine and, once again, we have tapped into the latest in internet technology to give you the magazine in fl ip form just like the printed edition. This has been available for almost a year now and access is free. While you are there, we have some great specials and blow out items in the on-line store. Information is good, but too much can be an overload. I think you will fi nd a lot of the information you are looking for between our websites, magazine, calendars, and gear that will get you covered and all in one spot. Remember, the hunts are here and I want to see your great success photos so send them in! I?m always ready for big buck and big bull information overload! 4 HUNTING ILLUSTRATED.com Editor: David King Founder: Robert King CEO: Levi Bouwman Art Director: Jeff Bishop Hunting Editors: Dennis Wintch, Steve Chappell Arnold Sandoval, Jim Burnworth Columnists: Michael Burrell, Ted Nugent, Mr. Mule Deer, Scott Grange, Ron Spomer, Bry Buttars, W.P.
