Linda Blagg Facility & Young Artist Tour - Coordinato,r Wildwood Park for the Arts "Introducing newcomers to Wildwood is always fun. I invariably hear- 'I had no idea such a beautiful place was here' or 'This Theatre is amazing.' It is a unique park with huge potential, as there is a venue here to fulfill any needs the public may have. Even now, we are preparing for a Harvest Festival that will utilize the entire park. Butler Hill will transform into Pumpkin Hill with a Hay Fort and entertainment for the kids, gourmet food and festival fare, beers and beverages, a country market for shopping, a half dozen Bluegrass bands and a iddle contest lakeside. I want to see the park grow and become what it was intended to be. I want the visions of Cliff Baker and so many others to be implemented. To be involved with the arts is just good for one's soul. The energy created is absolutely contagious. 'Opera to Go' is a tour program at Wildwood that offers 25,000 students to hear their first Opera. If we do our job well - it won't be their last.? Photography by Nancy Nolan Clay Mercer Deputy Director/Director of Development, Arkansas Arts Center "It is both fun and meaningful to be part of an organization that brings the art of the world to Arkansans, which ultimately leads to learning, inspiration and creative expression. The Arts Center is a 'cool' place - not just a'hip' place (though it really is hip!). Our '15 Weeks of Fame' is about to begin when the Andy Warhol exhibit hits in October. But the cornerstone of the Arts Center is our impressive permanent collection. To preserve these works, we have to maintain 70 degrees with 50% relative humidity 24/7/365. So, it's cool: both literally and figuratively. I want to ensure our donors both see and feel how their gifts make a difference in the culture scene of Arkansas. It matters to me to see smiles on faces of volunteers who are needed and on faces of donors who make it happen. It helps to have smiles on the faces of my wife and son, too.? Kelly Ford Director of Development & Marketing, The Arkansas Repertory Theatre "Nonprofits can always use more human and financial resources. The Rep is no different. A great idea doesn't do any good if no one has the time or money to make it work. And we have lots of great ideas! Sneaking in rehearsals and watching shows over and over is a fun aspect of my job, but so is working with a team of talented, creative and committed people who share the belief that theatre matters. Knowing we can contribute to the emotional and intellectual richness of our small piece of the world keeps me going. It's powerful to see someone using the gifts they've been given. I see it everyday with our staff and casts. When I watch a performance of our young artists, I'm reminded that we infuse those kids and this community with heart and soul. My daughter, Drew, has grown up hanging out in the Box Office and watching the work and today she's more educated, wise, observant, sensitive, accepting, well-rounded and flat-out more interesting because of it.? Holy Judd, Special Events & Volunteer Services Manager, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra "We want folks to know that the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (ASO) not only performs great Masterworks and Pops series at Robinson Center Music Hall, but we have fabulous music education programs that reached 107 communities in Arkansas last year. My wish for the Symphony is that it continues to grow by adding new patrons from many walks of life, all sharing in the love of great music. What I have found to be the most rewarding aspect of my job is meeting all the wonderful volunteers and being able to help them with their projects and questions. What matters the most is that the ASO makes Little Rock and Arkansas a better place to live through the presentation of world-class musicians and concerts.? 39 Inviting Arkansas
