Liz Clouse, RN Dr. Jim English Dr. Mimi Lee Grayson Sloan Dr. Suzanne Yee Dr. Ed Love Dr. DJ Dailey Dr. Jeffrey Herrold Liz Clouse, RN, CPSN Liz Clouse, Registered Nurse since 1980 and a certified plastic surgery nurse since 1991, who is located in Dr. Edward Love's office, tells us that she can offer a variety of things for your "just before the holiday? needs. Botox, Injectable fillers (Restalyne, Perlane, Juvederm Ultra&Ultra Plus, and Prevelle Silke), and Microdermabrasion are the top three favorites. Botox injections allow the muscle to relax, which can help soften the appearance of frown lines. This is a favorite because it gives an immediate "rested? look. Fillers do, well, just that! They "fill in? areas where there may be a deficit. And lastly, Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation of the skin that helps clean the dead cells off the surface, giving a clearer and brighter look to the naked eye. The length of time for treatment on these may be different. Botox can be as quick as a 15-minute procedure. Fillers generally take an hour, and Microdermabrasion can usually be done in 45-minutes. When asked what is the recovery period for each, Liz replied that with Botox, unless a patient bruises, there is little or no recovery time. With fillers, however, recovery varies on the amount used and the area applied. Microdermabrasin has little or no recovery time. The cost for each, of course, is always a top question. With regard to Botox, price varies with the amount used, but usually costs around $14 per unit. Some patients can use up to 33 units at a time. Fillers vary with the product and amount used as well, but standard industry prices indicate $199 to $1200, depending on the amount of times you have been treated. Liz's most important advice, no matter what the procedure, is to "research who is doing the procedure for you and what they will be doing. Ask questions.

"Remember, it is not always the price that makes a difference.? Dr. Jeffrey Herrold Dr. Jeffrey Herrold of Hot Springs is a Board certified Plastic and General Surgeon. In the relaxed atmosphere of his office, he performs a wide variety of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. The three most popular sought after procedures in his office are facelifts, VASER® LipoSelection and breast augmentations. Dr. Herrold agrees that facelifts, which are much more costly and starting at $10,000, are very popular this time of year. For the most part, facelift incisions are well healed within a week and patients are ready to return to work and light, normal activity sometime between 2 to 4 weeks. For those that must venture out, Dr. Herrold says that "cosmetics can usually camouflage any bruising that remains.? However, the much less expensive procedure of VASER® LipoSelection seems to top the charts in popularity for the Holidays. VASER® LipoSelection is a minimally invasive procedure that uses ultra sound technology to liquefy fat, resulting in less trauma to the tissue, less bruising, less swelling and quicker recovery period than traditional liposuction techniques. One can generally return to work in a week and has a motion range of light, normal activity. With saline-filled or silicon implants now approved by the FDA, breast augmentation is extremely popular. Down time is only about a week and the procedure usually costs between $5000- $7000. Dr. Herrold's quoted prices typically include surgeon fees, anesthesiology, supplies and

Like most other offices that offer such services, Dr. Herrold's most popular non-invasive procedures are Botox and dermal fillers. When asked what would be the single most important thing to remember when shopping, he informed us that "cosmetic surgery is a personal choice. We recommend to all our patients to do their homework after deciding on a procedure that they desire.? Dr. Herrold added that he wants his patients to be informed in the entire process "from selecting a board certified plastic surgeon to complications of a procedure all the way to recovery." Dr. Jim English Triple Board Certified surgeon Dr. Jim English says he is not opposed to doing a number of facial plastic procedures at one time. The more procedures performed at once, according to the patient's needs, goals and expectations, the better the overall outcome. Their results are predicated on the health of the patient, their bone structure and skin condition among other things. Not only in-state, but also out-of-state patients visit Dr. English for facial rejuvenation since his pricing is usually much lower than East or West Coast clinics. Dr. English makes recommendations for facial rejuvenation after carefully listening to what his patients are asking, what their desires and needs are, and what they represent their lifestyle to be. Dr. English has the unique ability to look at someone preoperatively and suggest procedures that will give them the best possible outcomes. All work is done in his outpatient, fully accredited facility, which provides less expense and more convenience for his patients. "The only thing worse than no information (about surgery) is misinformation,? he remarked to a patient's response to watching surgical procedures on television and automatically thinking that what they saw is the solution to their needs. There is a litany of information Dr. English is able to provide, according to mutually agreed upon patient/doctor preoperative goals. "It's not perfection we're after, it's excellence,? he reminds. After facial rejuvenation, one can look very presentable in as little as 3 weeks! Three weeks is the time necessary for anonymity in most surgical procedures. Some patients go out as early as 10 days to 2 weeks if they aren't concerned about peo-
