On behalf of All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan?s leading airline, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 2017 ANA Inspiration. In our third year as the Official Airline of the LPGA and primary sponsor for the ANA Inspiration, we are proud to host golf?s first major of the year. The historic grounds at Mission Hills Country Club, beautiful weather in Rancho Mirage, impeccable performance from LPGA players and energetic fans inspire us every year. This past year, ANA celebrated a number of achievements and milestones. On February 15, 2017, ANA launched direct flights between Tokyo?s Narita Airport and Mexico City, becoming the first airline to operate direct flights daily between Japan and Mexico. Passengers aboard this flight get to experience our Boeing Dreamliner 787-8, which offers the ultimate comfort for a long flight. In addition, ANA has received SKYTRAX awards for the ?World?s Best Airport Services? and ?Best Airline Staff in Asia?. We are proud that the Star Alliance Lounge located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which ANA is a part of, has been voted ?Best Alliance Lounge? for the second year in a row. Today, ANA operates a modern fleet of 257 aircraft and offers 114 weekly flights from 11 North American gateways. ANA presents the most convenient trans-Pacific connections between North America, Japan and every major city in Asia. A big focus for ANA in 2016 last year was upgrading the ANA Junior Inspiration to include junior female golfers across North America. Deeply inspired by all of the young talent we saw from the 2016 ANA Junior Inspiration, ANA decided to further upgrade the tournament by partnering with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). The ANA Junior Inspiration is now an official AJGA invitational that featured a stellar and diverse field of elite female junior golfers from around the world. We take seriously our responsibility in fostering the next generation of women?s golf and therefore, wanted to create an inspiring junior event. No other major in the world of golf provides such an opportunity to the next generation of players and ANA is proud to be the pioneer. This week, ANA brought back its second annual ANA Inspiring Women in Sports Conference that featured some of the LPGA?s finest alongside other standout female athletes. Topics such as health and wellness, mindfulness to society and the evolution of the female executive were among the many topics discussed. ANA featured its Blue Wing program and a couple of its Changemakers, who are addressing the challenges of society and driving real change in the world. Whether it?s connecting people across the world with financial services or training local residents in developing countries on how to build safe homes and schools, our Changemakers are tackling the world?s problems in their own unique ways. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the LPGA and Commissioner Whan for sharing in our vision of celebrating Inspired Journeys. The LPGA is a global tour that is helping female golfers worldwide realize their dreams of playing on a big international stage and we applaud their efforts. We would also like to thank IMG for their support in helping us achieve our vision of making the ANA Inspiration a first-class event. Lastly, we send our thanks to the tournament staff, volunteers, players and fans, all of whom will make ANA?s third year in Rancho Mirage one to remember.
