EMPLOYER SERVICES

The Gulf Coast Workforce Board works to meet the needs of local employers and relocating businesses. Our goal is to ensure a match between our workforce and area employers. We coordinate with economic development organizations to make sure our region remains a good place to start or operate a business. We partner with Gulf Coast Community College to operate our one-stop center, The Workforce Center. Staff at the Workforce Center meet daily with local employers and provide them with valuable services such as employment

The Gulf Coast Workforce Board was able to assist local businesses with employed worker training through funding from the Business Employment Solutions and Training (BEST) grant. The training is used to meet industry or company-specific training requirements. The types of training offered ranged from supervisory skill development to high level medical and engineering classes for seasoned professionals. As a result of the training, local businesses have become more competitive by providing their employees new skills that lead to greater productivity. For the employees, these new skills may lead to career advancement opportunities.
