President’s Message

The Birmingham Commercial REALTORS® Council was formed in 2005 to benefit the commercial real estate members of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS®. Irby Cohen and Claude Tindle were instrumental in building a foundation for the formation of BCRC which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS®. Locally and nationwide the commercial real estate industry recognizes the value and the impact of joining forces on common issues with residential real estate practitioners while maintaining separate education, listing networks and membership agendas. Since the formation of BCRC four year ago, we have grown to 334 brokers and sales associates. Benefits of membership include lobbying efforts, networking opportunities, Million Dollar Sales Club recognition, free continuing education, and access to standardized sales contracts and leases. Our proprietary listing database, BCRCList.net, currently has over 800 properties advertised for lease or sale. The data from BCRCList.net is shared with the National Association of Realtors’ nationwide CommercialSource.com and is automatically updated every day. By sharing data with this very powerful national website, increased traffic is directed locally generating new business leads. I believe BCRCList.net will continue to expand and grow as a valuable and needed service for Birmingham’s commercial practititioners. This message is for those commercial real estate professionals who have not yet joined our Association: we want you to be a member. Your knowledge and expertise is valued and will greatly help to grow our Council, making it more effective. A BCRC member will be calling on you soon to tell you more about us.
