Winning Design
With this year?s PNE prize home destined for a lakeside locale in
Kelowna, the team of a dozen designers chose a fitting palette of sage

One of the biggest challenges any designer can face is creating a space for an unknown
client, but that?s the reality of designing the PNE prize home ? with the added pressure that this year?s
home marks the event?s 75-year anniversary. Barbara Aylesworth, interior design co-ordinator for the
project, worked with lead interior decorator Lynne Cepin and a team of 10 designers (all members of
the Interior Design and Decoration Association ? BC Chapter CDECA) to create a material and colour
palette to suit the 3,000-square-foot craftsman-style home?s permanent lakeside location in Kelowna?s
wine country. Many organizations generously donated over $400,000 of services and materials to
make this year?s PNE prize home spectacular.
